Willowbank Farm Wedding

Marriage means different things to different people but for Jono and Ella it is love, laughter and commitment. It is believing in each other’s strengths and stepping in where there are weaknesses. It’s also about raising a family together, making memories and always having someone who will give you a secret high five.

Ella and Jono’s story began when they were set up by mutual friends in 2011. Ella had been living in Gisborne for a year and her friend Kristy mentioned to her one day “I’ve got the perfect guy for you”. She then conveniently organised a weekend up the coast, telling Ella, “Oh this guy Trev’s coming, he will give you a lift”. Ella did what all sensible girls would do – she enlisted a wing girl Abby and headed north for a weekend of fun. Little did she know her life was set to change forever. Now it’s not clear who fell first, the laid-back farming lad from Tolaga Bay or the fun-loving gal from Te Kuiti but this guy Trev seemed to be making a lot of trips down to Gisborne to “collect diesel” after that weekend.

Fast forward seven years and this adventure-loving couple have travelled the world together and welcomed two handsome sons, Lachlan and Patrick. This year they purchased their first farm together and could not think of a more special setting for their wedding than their new home.
